I have had quite the weekend. The longest weekend in a while actually. And at that, I haven’t posted a blog in forever! Let me back up a few weeks before I get started on this long weekend I had.
Man, chemistry was hell for me! Haha. I am not going to lie. It caused me to drink tons of coffee, eat unhealthily, sleep at early hours of the morning! I was just a complete mess. It even caused me to miss a weeks worth of my period! (As usual, my mom thought I was pregnant -_________-) After my chemistry final, I was still on edge because I wanted to know my grade! And thank goodness I found out like 2-3 days later, and I did pass! So, my stress levels went down!
After school has ended, I resigned from my old job Sonoma Chicken Coop. It was pretty sad, but I got a job on campus that would open many more doors for me in the long run. I’m so thankful that Sonoma was my first job and would not have it any other way. During this time, I was running every day for 15-20 minutes each. I was also keeping track of my food. Running has definitely made a difference in my mood and the way I looked at things. It made me way happier and I went to bed feeling good. Then my parents flew up on June 1st, here’s where the fun begins.
My long weekend:
I haven’t seen my Ma since February and I haven’t seen my Pa since November! So you can imagine how excited I was to see my parents! The day before I washed my car because I knew that they’d say something if I didn’t, I even got my car vacuumed! Ever since moving up here, it’s been so hard getting a carwash because of time constraints and because the weather up here is random as hell! Anyways, I arrive at the airport and I see my parents on the spot and the biggest SMILE appears on my face :) Even thinking about it makes me smile!! I give them the longest hug each and we’re off to go get breakfast. My Pa’s beard is disgustingly long hahaha and I even braided it (gross). We went to Ihop and ate breakfast. Mind you, I have been eating oatmeal everyday straight for like weeks on end because… well that’s self explanatory, I’m a college student haha. So I GRUBBED. We went back home to my place to relax a bit. My parents ended up napping which was a good thing for me! After their nap, we went to HR at State so that I could turn in some paper work, then to Tmobile, lunch at Sonoma and to get my last paycheck (they were so sweet to not make us pay!), went to Valley Fair to walk around, and lastly, went to watch Snow White and the Huntsman (ugGggGGgh CHRIS HEMSWORTH). We leave San Jose around 9:45 for Oakland and get there in exactly 45 minutes!
All day Saturday, we were in San Francisco! We went to Alcatraz Island and let me say, it was pretty cool! the audio tour of the prison was pretty cool, telling you the story of different areas inside. The island itself is beautiful, I mean, hell it was such a NICE DAY. Cold and windy as hell, but the sun was shining and I could not complain! I was with my family! After Alcatraz we went to the Union Square and had a brief coffee and crepe break. We also went shopping a bit. Of course the three girls got something while Pops sat there patiently. After Sf, we went back to Oakland and drove to Rockin Crawfish! Oh my gahd, all I can say is “WOW” <— actually that’s all my Pa said lol. If you love Boiling Crab… then you haven’t tried Rockin Crawfish man…!! We grubbed and grubbed and ate like there was no tomorrow! We were so stuffed, we decided to go to BayStreet to walk off our food and then went back home. I went to bed feeling extremely exhausted and warm, but I just ignored it thinking it was my long day.
Sunday morning, I woke up extremely warm, thirsty, and sore. Lucky me, I had a fever the day my parents were to leave! Fuuuu. I took some meds, napped for a good hour before they left and felt better! But over the course of the day, my fever went up and down and I had a growing headache. Cold compress and fluids were a necessity!
Monday morning, I woke up on fire! My temperature was 104. Couldn’t believe the number, was a bit delirious. Missed my first day or work (but I called in and thank goodness they’re understanding). My sister had to miss her first day at the gym because of me :( But thanks to her, I got better. Through out the day, I got better, but the head ache still lingered. I went to bed not feeling as horrible as the past day.
Tuesday morning, I woke up feeling fine actually! Made a doctor’s appointment in San Jose and drove down. But the drive was the worst part, I started feeling sick again… when I got to the office I had a temperature of 101.. yep, the head ache was lingering back. I got my medication at Cvs and went to Safeway/Vons to pick up a few items because my place was foodless. By the time I got home, little squirrlley Lori scared the shit out of me and forgot I wasn’t feeling well. I made lunch, took some pills and hoped it would magically kill all the pain I was feeling. But I was wrong! My headache was like a drill, drilling into cement! I even cried man, it was that bad. I cried about other things, but that’s far to embarrassing for me to post. I finally took some pain meds and fell asleep and woke up with the head ache gone and I think I sweated out that fever cause my bed and body was drenched. I was awake to see Lori walk through the front door and we chatted a bit before we both went to bed.
Wednesday, rested all day. No sign of fever or head ache in sight! *Knock on wood*
Tomorrow, I officially start my first day at the Career Center at 9! Excited and I hope I don’t cough in anyone’s face!
